Philippine Group accuses Globe of using data cap to hide network problems

Ayala-led Globe Telecom is merely using Internet volume data capping, through the imposition of a “fair use policy”, to hide problems in network capacity, a consumer group said in a statement.
TxtPower, through its president Ian Anthony Cruz, branded Globe’s move as deceptive and should be investigated by the National Telecommunications Commission (NTC).  Read the whole article here  http://newsbytes.ph/2011/04/07/group-accuses-globe-of-using-data-cap-to-hide-network-problems/

For sure Globe wants to cram more customers in its network to make more money instead of blaming the customers using their advertised unlimited or has the definition of unlimited changed? Why dont they just state upfront its no longer unlimited and give the cap and speed they guarantee?

PLDT buys Sun Cellular Digitel at P74.1B

THE BOARD of directors of Philippine Long Distance Telephone Co. (PLDT) and Gokongwei-led JG Summit Holdings, Inc. approved on Tuesday the acquisition by PLDT of a stake in Digital Telecommunications Philippines, Inc. which owns the Sun Cellular mobile phone brand.

Hope that PLDT implements the same simple loading that SUN has where the customer load is not charged everytime you send a load text which is so annoying in the SMART loading system for broadband.  What the heck we want a simple loading setup not like the complicated ever changing SMART setup and where they charge for every broadband load text how annoying.
